ITC Distance Education Leadership Academy
Apply for a scholarship to attend the 2025 ITC Distance Education Leadership Academy!

About the Leadership Academy
Planning for the future and motivating a team to join you along the way are the hallmarks of a successful leader.
Academy cohort members will learn, explore, and collaborate with a faculty team of leaders and educators in community college from across the country through various workshops and activities.
Each cohort member will return to their schools to use their new experiences to develop a capstone project and work with a mentor to create a personal leadership plan.
Who Should Attend?
- Distance education directors and program managers
- Faculty and professors with a new distance education leadership role
- Academic leaders responsible for distance education
- Instructional designers and technologists with leadership ambitions
Scholarships Available
The OCCDLA professional development workgroup has funding available for scholarships of up to $2500 for each recipient to be applied towards registration, accommodations, and transportation.

Submit your scholarship application by Friday, May 16, 2025.
Application Criteria
Awards will be made from the pool of applicants based on the following criteria:
- Must be employed at an Oregon Community College.
- Must be affiliated with online education and engaged in leadership activities at their college.
- Willing to present on their experience at an upcoming OCCDLA meeting
- One award per college, per year.
How to Apply
STEP 1: Apply for a Scholarship
- Ask your supervisor to write a letter of support for you to attend the academy.
- Submit your scholarship application to OCCDLA by Friday, May 16, 2025.
- Email your letter of support to Ian Coronado ([email protected]), OCCDLA Operations Lead.
STEP 2: Apply to attend the Academy
- Submit your ITC application to attend the Academy by June 1st, 2025.
- Your scholarship award is contingent upon acceptance to the Academy by ITC representatives.
Scholarships Selection Committee
The selection committee will be coordinated by the OCCDLA co-chairs and will include association members. The committee will select recipients and notify all applicants of the status of their application.
Scholarship Award
Expenses for the award are not to exceed $2500. The scholarship includes:
- Airfare allowance
- Registration fee with most meals included
- Lodging (3 days) at the conference hotel
- Incidentals (such as taxes, ground transportation, and airport fees)
Recipients are responsible for costs beyond the cap. If the recipient intends to seek reimbursements beyond the scholarship from his/her college, please verify beforehand that the college will support this.
